NYC Songwriting Contest, Sear Sound

On January 17, 2017 the musicians and singers at Demo My Song convened from around the globe in New York City, for the filming and audio recording of the NYC Songwriting Contest, a joint venture with our label, 5050songs. Production took place on the rooftop and inside the historic Sear Sound, in midtown Manhattan. For those Beatles and John Lennon fans out there, you may be interested to know this is the recording studio where he made his last album. On inspired nights, he and Yoko used to spend the night at the studio, taking naps in a room normally set aside for giant moog modular synth.

The NYC Songwriting Contest culminated in submissions from all over the globe. Winning submission were chosen by popular vote for lyric writing and songwriting, and a category for our top pick. See the winners of the 2017 NYC Songwriting Contest.
